Boston’s Handel and Haydn Society has named ANTHONY TRECEK-KING as resident conductor of its Handel and Haydn Society Chorus. He will share chorus responsibilities with Scott Allen Jarrett, and the two of them will assist Artistic Director Harry Christophers in building the H+H Chorus through recruitment, auditions, preparation, and concerts. Trecek-King is associate professor of ​choral music and director of choral activities at the Hartt School, University of Hartford. From 2007​ to 2020, he was artistic director of the Boston Children’s Chorus. In addition to conducting work, Trecek-King has hosted the choral-music radio program “Together in Song,” which aired on ​WCRB classical in New England and WQXR radio in New York City, and he has presented talks and performances for TEDx Boston. He is host and coach for the Emmy-nominated ​WGBH television series “Sing That Thing,” which can be ​viewed online.
