On March 5, the Lexington Philharmonic in Kentucky will launch a virtual series called “Connect with Us,” featuring performances by musicians from the orchestra, plus an online conversation. The series will take place on Fridays at 10 a.m. in March and April. The “Connect: Coffee Hour” portion of the series will include live conversations on Facebook with Interim Artistic Advisor Kelly Corcoran and community guests. The “Connect: With Our Musicians” segment will consist of short informal videos featuring conversations with musicians from each section of the orchestra. The first installment on March 5 will premiere on the LexPhil Facebook page with a coffee hour focusing on the role of music and art in healthcare with guests Jason Akhtarekhavari of UK Arts in HealthCare, and Jackie Hamilton Saykaly, former director of UK Arts in HealthCare. Both currently serve on the board of the Lexington Philharmonic. The coffee hour will also include a brief performance by a Lexington Philharmonic musician. The full “Connect with Us” schedule will be announced on the orchestra’s social media pages and website. After each event, videos will be posted on Facebook, YouTube, and at the Lexington Philharmonic website.
