“ ‘The through-line that connects all of our chamber music performances, both at Walton Arts Center and outdoor concerts, is the musicians themselves,’ D. Riley Nicholson, executive director of the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas, says of a series of upcoming events,” writes Becca Martin-Brown in Sunday’s (4/11) Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (Little Rock). “ ‘We’re framing all of these concerts as part of a “SoNA Voices” series because the concerts [are] created … by the musicians themselves,’ says Nicholson…. The smaller events allow ‘our audiences [to] get to know our artists up close and personal and in a new way.’ … The next four SoNA Voices performances” take place April 11-May 16 at the Atrium at Walton Arts Center. Programs will feature flutist Denissa Rivas and violinist Raúl Munguía, bassoonist Lia Uribe, percussionists Fernando Valencia and Matt Brusca, and pianist Miroslava Panayotova in music from Latin America; cellist Eman Chalshotori in music by Caroline Shaw, Mohammed Fairouz, Mark O’Connor, Svante Henryson, and J.S. Bach; and oboist Theresa Delaplain, violinist Miho Oda Sakon, violist Jesse Collett, and cellist Kari Caldwell in music by Mozart, Britten, and Bacewicz.
