The Montreal Symphony Orchestra will conclude its 2020-21 season with May and June concerts, the first in person and streamed, the second to be streamed only. On May 28 and 29 at Maison symphonique de Montréal, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Music Director Otto Tausk will lead Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 7 and Berlioz’s Les Nuits d’été song cycle, featuring the orchestra and soprano Hélène Guilmette, mezzo-soprano Caroline Gélinas, tenor Frédéric Antoun, and baritone Geoffrey Salvas. The concert will be streamed free for two weeks beginning June 8. Canadian conductor Dina Gilbert will lead “Voices of Women: An Ode to Life” in a June 15-22 streaming-only concert featuring music by composers Ana Sokolović, Alexina Louie, Barbara Croall, Lili Boulanger, and Elizabeth Maconchy. The concert, featuring all women performers, is dedicated to the memory of victims of violence against women.
