On June 26, New Bedford Symphony Orchestra violinist Emma Lee Holmes-Hicks and cellist Peter Zay will perform in the first of four free Saturday concerts by NBSO musicians on the front porch of the Drawing Room, a design showroom in the New Bedford, Massachusetts seaport district. On July 24, violinists Raluca Dumitrache and Antoaneta Anguelova will perform, followed by violinist David Rubin and violist Maureen Heflinger (Aug. 28), and violinist Fariba Hunold, violinist Shawn Wang, and violist Maureen Heflinger (Sept. 25). The concerts are part of the city’s “Summer in the Seaport” campaign encouraging residents and tourists to explore New Bedford’s downtown; each Saturday will include wine tastings and locally grown flowers, and seating will be set up around the block for the concert.
