The Columbus Symphony’s recent “Columbus Symphony Holiday Spectacular” television broadcast has been nominated for a Regional Emmy Award. The one-hour family-friendly broadcast, featuring CSO Principal Pops Conductor Stuart Chafetz and a full, socially distanced orchestra performing at the Ohio Theatre, aired on two local television stations on December 12 and 25, 2020. The concert featured carols, holiday pop songs, and other seasonal favorites and also included the Columbus Symphony Chorus, Columbus Children’s Choir, and guest vocalist N’Kenge. Winners will be announced on August 15 during the virtual Emmy Awards Ceremony of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Ohio Valley Chapter, one of the Academy’s 19 regional chapters.
