The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia has promoted ANDREW LANE to the newly created position of vice president, touring and artist management, as Curtis expands its global presence and launches a new artist management initiative. Since 2013, Lane has managed Curtis on Tour, the school’s touring initiative, extending its performance reach to over 110 cities in 23 countries and developing partnerships with institutions around the world. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he has overseen Curtis’ virtual tours. As vice president, he will further increase the school’s tour offerings. Lane recently oversaw the launch of Curtis’s new artist management initiative, which represents the Dover Quartet and pianist Michelle Cann, and he will lead the development of this program. Prior to Curtis, Lane worked at Opus 3 Artists, where he booked chamber music and orchestral engagements for musical artists, and held an administrative post at the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra in Texas. Originally from Newnan, Ga., Lane holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Mercer University and a master’s degree in choral conducting from Texas Tech University.
