MELANIE M. KALNINS has joined Artis—Naples, the Florida-based parent organization of the Naples Philharmonic and the Baker Museum, as vice president of marketing and patron engagement. Kalnins will oversee the organization’s marketing, communications, and patron services operations. She goes to Artis—Naples from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association and starts her new position on July 26. Prior to joining the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 2001, she served as a sales planning analyst for CBS Television Networks in Chicago. Kalnins is a graduate of Northwestern University with a bachelor of science degree in communication studies. A pianist and vocalist, Kalnins has participated in a wide variety of performing arts organizations, including lead and supporting roles in professional and amateur theater productions. Artis—Naples is led by CEO and President Kathleen van Bergen and Music Director Andrey Boreyko; Jack Everly is principal pops conductor.
