“Brevard Music Center announced Friday the inaugural season of performances at the brand new Parker Concert Hall on its Brevard campus,” reads an unsigned article in Friday’s (9/24) Transylvania Times (Brevard, NC). “The state-of-the-art venue overlooking Lake Milner will play host to a nine-concert series beginning Oct. 5 with the Jasper String Quartet…. [Other concerts include] violist Jordan Bak … with BMC artist faculty member Jihye Chang … the next generation of musicians from the Curtis Institute of Music [joining] their mentors [and] the Trio AYA [in] its first visit to Brevard … The inaugural season at the Parker Concert Hall comes to a close on May 12 with the violinist Midori in recital. ‘Parker Concert Hall opens up a world of opportunities and is the culmination of a long-desired goal: an on-campus performance venue to serve as the home for our world-class student programs, as well as a year-round resource for the arts, and community engagement and enrichment for our region,’ said Mark Weinstein, BMC President and CEO.” The 400-seat hall joins Brevard’s open-air Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium, with 1,800 covered seats and additional lawn seating.
