“Giuliano Kornberg will be the next executive director of the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera, effective Feb. 1,” writes Sonya Sorich in Tuesday’s (10/5) Sacramento Business Journal (CA). “He will succeed Alice Sauro in the role. Sauro will stay with the organization as a senior adviser after Feb. 1. Sauro was hired by the philharmonic in 2015 to help turn around the organization. Under her leadership, it has had sold-out performances, and heightened its fundraising efforts. Kornberg, 28, has been with the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera for five years, most recently serving as chief revenue and development officer…. He said he had helped increase the organization’s yearly fundraising to over $1 million, up from $650,000 when he started…. ‘I am honored to have been selected as the next executive director, and I thank the board for entrusting me with this responsibility,’ Kornberg said in a news release. ‘I am particularly grateful for Alice, to whom I owe so much of my professional growth and leadership development.’… Kornberg is from Minnesota and received a master’s degree in music, science and technology from Stanford University.”
