The Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra will partner with the Chippewa Valley Jazz Orchestra for a concert entitled “Let’s Go Nut(s)cracker!: Take Two” on December 10 at Pablo Center at the Confluence in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The combined program—which the two organizations first performed in 2018—will feature symphonic works paired with their jazz versions, including selections from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and Duke Ellington’s jazz arrangements; the first movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, paired with “Beethoven’s Fifth Goes Latin,” arranged by Andy Firth; and the first movement of Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, paired with “Que Viva Amadeus,” arranged by Andrew Neesley. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or documentation of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event is required of all audience members over age 12; masks will be required for all ages.
