The Western Piedmont Symphony in North Carolina has appointed KELLY SWINDELL executive director. Swindell succeeds Ingrid Keller, who recently became executive director of the United Arts Council of Catawba County. Swindell received an MFA in Performing Arts Management from University of North Carolina School of the Arts and a BA in History from UNC-Greensboro. She was the media and communications director at Eastern Music Festival (EMF), the classical music performance and summer study education institution in Greensboro, North Carolina. Swindell’s past professional experience in the region includes Biscuitville Fresh Southern, Triad Stage, UNC School of the Arts, and advertising and public relations firms MullenLowe, Trone Brand Energy, and Feisty PR. She serves as a trustee for the Van Dyke Dance Group and is a board member at Dance Project, Inc.
