Two television broadcasts will feature highlights from the Omaha Symphony’s “Christmas Celebration” in-person program being presented December 16-19 at the Holland Center. The concert was broadcast last year for the first time. This year’s one-hour broadcasts on Omaha’s WOWT Channel 6 will take place on December 23 at 7 p.m. and December 25 at 10 a.m. Resident Conductor and Principal Pops Conductor Ernest Richardson will lead the concerts. Performers will include the vocal ensemble Résonance, singers, dancers, and actors Will Burton, Hannah Corneau, Alan H. Green, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Shina Ann Morris, Hayley Podschun, Tiffany Haas, Justin Prescott. “The Omaha Symphony has adapted and grown its capacity for creating virtual and broadcast content, and our ability to bring this program to audiences via WOWT Channel 6 is a thrilling reflection of that growth,” said Omaha Symphony President and CEO Jennifer Boomgaarden Daoud. “This special broadcast is a gift to our community to enjoy from home on Dec. 23 and 25—our hope is that all feel invited to celebrate the holiday with us, then join us in the concert hall for an incredible new year of live orchestral music in 2022!”
