“The Cleveland Orchestra canceled its two Sunday holiday concerts due to a positive COVID-19 case within the Orchestra,” writes Jane Morice in Sunday’s (12/19) Plain Dealer (Cleveland, OH). “The [December 19] concerts at Severance Music Hall were scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. ‘This cancellation is in accordance with our COVID protocols developed in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic to protect our musicians, staff, volunteers, and audience members,’ according to a news release.… Anyone with tickets to Sunday’s performances … can … request a full refund or to donate tickets as a tax-deductible contribution, the release said. Sunday’s ticketholders can also exchange their tickets for a future concert.… Sunday’s concert cancellations were among other recent entertainment cancellations in the region due to a fresh COVID-19 surge. On Saturday, Cleveland Play House cancelled its remaining LIGHT IT UP! performances due to coronavirus concerns.”
