“As the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s new president and CEO, Erik Rönmark is making some major changes,” writes Susan Elliott in Tuesday’s (2/8) Musical America (subscription required). “Having officially succeeded longtime chief Anne Parsons on December 20 … he’s … realigning the organization’s administration. Among his new hires are Charles Buchanan, recent director of marketing for the New York Philharmonic, as senior director of marketing & audience development. Buchanan will report to Jill Elder, newly promoted from chief development officer to VP and chief revenue officer, overseeing marketing, communications, and fundraising. Also new to the staff is Hannah Lozon, in the post of senior director of talent and culture; she arrives from the University of Michigan’s LSA Opportunity Hub and reports to Linda Lutz, promoted from CFO to VP and chief financial & administrative officer, overseeing finance, HR, and building services. Buchanan, incidentally, succeeds Michael Frisco, now with the Cincinnati Symphony, and Lozon succeeds Lisa Bradley, now at the Center for Creative Leadership…. Other promotions include Kathryn Ginsburg, from senior director of operations and orchestra manager to general manager; Alex Kapordelis to senior director, campaign; and Jessica Ruiz to senior director, artistic planning.”
