On March 5, California’s San Luis Obispo Symphony will perform side by side with young musicians from the San Luis Obispo Youth Symphony at the Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo. Repertoire will spotlight musicians from the SLO and will include Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor featuring Concertmaster Emily Lanzone and violinist Timothy Shanks; Cowell’s Hymn and Fuguing Tune No. 10 for Oboe and Strings featuring Heidi Butterfield Yi; Farrenc’s Nonet in E-flat Major, Op. 38 featuring principal winds and strings players; Honegger’s Concerto de Camera for Flute, English Horn, and Strings featuring flutist Carol Houchens and English hornist Jessica Hoffman; and Warlock’s Capriol Suite featuring SLO Youth Symphony Concert Strings playing alongside the SLO Symphony. The concert will be led by Andrew Sewell, the SLO Symphony’s music director.
