Oregon’s Portland Chamber Orchestra is partnering with the Oregon Commission on Black Affairs to sponsor tickets for Black Oregonians to attend its upcoming performances of My Words Are My Sword at Portland’s St. Andrew Catholic Church (April 9) and St. Michael’s Lutheran Church (April 10). My Words Are My Sword combines poetry, hip-hop, jazz, and traditional classical styles, and was composed collaboratively with jazz pianist and composer Jasnam Daya Singh, poet/actor Darius Wallace, and Portland Chamber Orchestra Music Director Yaacov Bergman.
