“The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra on the Go is heading to the Bethlehem Apostolic Temple to perform this week,” reports Gianna Dapra in Monday’s (3/28) WTOV9 (Steubenville, OH/Wheeling, WV). “WSO string quintet was invited by Rev. Darrell Cummings to perform at his church, hoping to bring a variety of music to people in the Wheeling community. There will be different pop, classical, and religious music to hear so children and adults are welcome. ‘Our WSO on the Go program is something that we’re super proud of. We like to go into various locations across the Ohio Valley,’ said Bryan Braunlich, executive director, WSO. ‘We believe it is historic that they are coming to our neighborhood,’ Cummings said. ‘It’s right across the street from a number of our students and members and youth center—this hopefully will give them aspirations that they can do that, too.’ The event … on Wednesday … is free.” The orchestra’s On the Go series this spring includes multiple yoga-themed events at Scottish Rite Cathedral, music at Leonardo’s Coffeehouse and Renaissance Coffee Roasting Co. in Steubenville, Ohio, and jazz at Nail City Record, a record store in Wheeling, West Virginia.
