Virginia’s Alexandria Symphony Orchestra will present the world premiere of Brian Prechtl’s Tribute on April 23, with ASO musicians performing alongside students from Sympatico, the orchestra’s music-education program. Prechtl is the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s principal percussionist; the work was commissioned by Classical Movements’ Eric Daniel Helms New Music Program. ASO Music Director James Ross will conduct the program at Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall in Alexandria; the concert will also feature Brahms’s Symphony No. 1 and Barber’s Violin Concerto with Dylana Jenson as soloist.
