New York-based Concert Artists Guild (CAG) has announced the four winners of the 2022 Victor Elmaleh Virtual Competition. They are soprano Magdalena Kuźma, bassoonist Eleni Katz, pianist Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner, and Galvin Cello Quartet. The four winners will each receive North American management with CAG, performances at Merkin Hall in New York and Wigmore Hall in London, and participation in CAG’s 360 Leadership Development Program. This year’s jury comprised Jenny Bilfield (president and CEO, Washington Performing Arts), pianist Sara Davis Buechner, Phillippa Cole (senior director of artistic planning, San Francisco Symphony), countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo (2022 artist in residence, New York Philharmonic), Imani Winds flutist Brandon Patrick George, composer John Glover (director of artistic planning, Kaufman Music Center), Jaime Martín (chief conductor, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and music director, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra), Tavia Nyong’o (curator of public programming, Park Avenue Armory), Asadour Santourian (vice president, Tanglewood Music Center and Learning), and Kathy Schuman (artistic director, Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts).
