About The Hub

The Hub is the orchestra field’s go-to source of breaking news and information, updated every weekday. The Hub has everything you need to know about important media coverage of orchestras and the cultural scene (Media View), what is happening in our field (Industry Buzz), personnel appointments (Who’s In), and the essential programs and services the League and others provide (Help Yourself). The Hub’s home page and Help Yourself section are available free of charge to all, but only League members may access the site’s in-depth pages with complete stories. For help with The Hub, contact League Member Services at member@americanorchestras.org or 646 822 4010.

About Industry Buzz

Industry Buzz, edited by Jennifer Melick, draws primarily from press releases submitted by League members. Industry Buzz announces important news, unusual concert programs, awards, and other information you need to stay on top of what’s happening in our industry.

Submission guidelines:
Industry Buzz covers notable orchestral activity, including major grants, education programs, and programming ideas. Stories of national or compelling interest are given priority.

Please send press releases to be considered for Industry Buzz to orchnews@americanorchestras.org and jmelick@americanorchestras.org.

About Media View

Media View highlights timely news and feature articles and occasionally includes reviews, opinion pieces, and obituaries of note. Because reviews are numerous and highly specific to their local market, they are normally included only if they involve a debut, commission/premiere, or programming focus of widespread interest.

Media View is meant to accurately reflect what is being said in the media about orchestras and the issues surrounding them. Stories of national and compelling interest are given priority, and the news “load” each day plays a role in determining what is covered.

Views and opinions referenced are those of the reporters and critics cited, and are not to be taken as the views of the League. The League takes no responsibility for the opinions, views, or reporting of writers whose articles are digested in Media View.

Submission guidelines:
If you would like an article to be considered for Media View, please copy the article into an email with a link to its source and send it to bsandla@americanorchestras.org and jmelick@americanorchestras.org. Send the article on the day it is published if at all possible. We generally refrain from featuring articles that are more than three days old.

About Who’s In

Who’s In, edited by Robert Sandla, announces artistic and administrative appointments, key changes in board leadership, and notable retirements at orchestras and related organizations.

Submission guidelines:
Please send personnel-related press releases to be considered for Who’s In to orchnews@americanorchestras.org and bsandla@americanorchestras.org.
