Read all about it! The new issue of Symphony magazine is available now

Are gender stereotypes about musical instruments finally eroding? Even today, when male-female parity at U.S. orchestras is 50-50, women players remain concentrated in instruments like harp, violin, and flute. In the Spring issue of Symphony, female orchestral musicians speak out on the topic. Elsewhere in the issue, we report on programs by orchestras that aim to broaden diversity with training and mentoring for musicians from underrepresented communities. And as we look ahead to summer, Symphony assesses the ways that orchestral music festivals fine-tune their offerings. Read about all this, and more, in the Spring 2016 issue of Symphony, in print and online. Symphony is the award-winning magazine of the League of American Orchestras.
